Frankfort is a small farming community situated on the beautiful banks of the Wilge River in the Eastern Free State province of South Africa. The town was laid out in 1869 on the farm Roodepoort, and named Frankfurt (after Frankfurt-am-Main in Germany) by Albert van Gordon. The town later received municipality status in 1896. Frankfort is now the capital town to Villiers, Cornelia and Tweeling, called the Mafube Municipality.
Frankfort is the gateway to places like Clarens, the Drakenberge and approximately a 90 minute drive from Johannesburg. The Estate forms part of a beautiful community that offers a wide variety of shops, beauty salons, restaurants (one of which is only walking distance from the Estate) and a well-established school environment.
